The event is designed for children\, their siblings\, parents\, grandparents or other caregivers to enjoy together.\nWe’ll explore the benefits of time in nature by stimulating our senses with sights\, sounds\, scents\, and other soothing qualities of the natural world. Studies suggest that just two hours per week in nature is linked to better health and well-being (Weir\, 2020). Nature can help reduce stress\, improve mental clarity\, and boost overall well-being (Grinde and Patil\, 2009).\nWe’ll take a break for story time on our picnic blankets. Our special guest\, a local gnome\, will share how to identify local mountains\, waters\, and plants. He’ll guide us through how we can start to notice more together.\nCome along with us while we build a sense of belonging to a community that cares for its ecosystem.\nEvent Details:\nPlease no dogs except service dogs on a leash–this helps us better observe living creatures.\nWalking will be on mostly flat surfaces in easy-to-hike terrain. DESCRIPTION:Join Beautify Shasta and their partners at Trout Unlimited for the Annual Sacramento River Cleanup on Saturday\, April 4\, 2026! \nThis cleanup takes place along the Sacramento River in Redding and also falls on Beautify Shasta’s first Saturday of the month cleanup—making it a perfect opportunity to get involved. \n📍 Volunteer Meeting Location\nPosse Grounds Boat Ramp (Turtle Bay area behind the Civic Center next to the rodeo grounds)\n• Meet at 8:00 AM\n• Volunteers will be assigned to shoreline cleanup or may assist with boat crews \n🚤 Boaters Welcome\nIf you have a drift boat\, raft\, jet boat\, or paddleboard\, you’re encouraged to participate!\n• Arrive 30 minutes early to launch\n• Help transport volunteers and collect trash along the river\n• Life jackets are required for all on-water participants \n🧤 What’s Provided\n• Trash bags\n• Cleanup coordination\n• Disposal support \n🎒 What to Bring\n• Gloves (recommended)\n• Comfortable work clothes\n• Sturdy shoes (you may encounter rocks\, brush\, or water)\n• Sun protection\n• Plenty of water \n🤝 Event Support\nThis event is supported by:\n• Redding Police Department\n• City of Redding \n🍻 After the Cleanup\nJoin fellow volunteers at Fall River Brewing Company for a well-earned refreshment and good company! \n🗑️ Let’s make a big impact—one bag at a time. \nQuestions?
