DESCRIPTION:The Shasta Group of Sierra Club with support from CNPS will be leading a field trip on the Meiner’s Gulch Trail in the Swasey Recreation Area west of Redding. This is an easy trail of less than 3 miles with lots to see\, especially the great recovery of trees and shrubs following the Carr Fire. This will be a good time to learn plant identification in the fall. Bird foot’s fern and rock polypody fern are still growing here and the regrowth of the gray pines are quite prolific. For those wishing we can take a short visit to a large-scale hard rock mining operation from the 1850’s. This hike should be easy for most hikers. Considered 1A (easy) by Sierra Club. Rain cancels\, drizzle bring umbrella. For more information\, contact walk leader David Ledger at dsledger49@gmail.com. Dogs on leash with poop bag okay. Meet at the west end of Delano Street off Swasey Drive in the Swasey Recreation Area. Sign waiver at the trailhead.

DESCRIPTION:Bring your furry friend in their most pawsome costume on Halloween and join us for a spooktacular evening at the brewery! \n Parade kicks off at 5:30 PM — we’ll strut around the brewery showing off those wag-worthy costumes. Trick or treat at the bar — pups get a special treat when they visit! Best in Show wins a prize! Dress to impress — creativity is highly encouraged!\nWhether your dog is spooky\, silly\, or downright stylish\, this is their time to shine. All well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.\nCome sip\, cheer\, and celebrate Howl-a-Ween with the whole pack! \nSum of All Smoke will also be on site serving up good eats all evening!\nTag your dog-loving friends and let’s make this a tail-waggin’ good time!
