Donations from local readers mean the world to us because they show we’re reporting the news you care about in a way you can trust. That’s why we’re launching new membership tiers that we hope will inspire even more of you to commit to a small recurring donation this year.
As an extra incentive to become a member between now and December 31, all donations to Shasta Scout will be matched, helping to power our newsroom into 2026. New monthly donations are matched 12 times, and one-time gifts will be doubled, all up to $1,000. Our goal is to raise at least $18,000 in reader support before the end of the year, allowing Scout to earn double that amount.

Can I submit a donation via check?
If you choose to send a check, make it out to Shasta Scout (if no tax deduction needed) OR the Institute for Nonprofit News with Shasta Scout in the memo line (if tax deduction needed) and mail it 1647 Yuba Street #991215, Redding CA 96099. If possible, please include your email address with your donation.
Will my contribution be considered a charitable donation for tax purposes?
Yes, your payment is tax-deductible.
Is your website secure?
All payments are processed through Stripe. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the highest grade of payment processing security. All credit card information is encrypted, sent directly to Stripe and is never sent to our website server. This means that we are PCI compliant and any breach of our website won’t result in stolen credit card information. Learn more here.
