Champions for Children

Families from across Shasta County are invited to the annual Champions for Children on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The family event will connect parents and caregivers with resources, child development information, and activities designed to support young children and their families.
Attendees can explore hands-on activities for children, enjoy story time, connect with community agencies, learn about child development, and sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The event is designed to help families access
information and resources that support healthy growth, learning, and development during a child’s earliest years.
“Every child deserves a strong start, and every family deserves access to the resources that can help them thrive,” said Megan Johnson, Program Coordinator for First 5 Shasta. “Champions for Children brings together organizations from across our
community to make those connections in a fun, welcoming environment.”
Admission is free for children ages 0-12 and for Turtle Bay members. Admission for non-members age 13 and older is $2.
