Survey: Improving Health Care Access In Shasta County
Five minutes of your time will help shape our coverage of local health care. Thank you!

The Specialist Squeeze, a recent Shasta Scout story highlighting our county’s lack of specialist doctors was reported as part of the Institute of Nonprofit News’ Breaking Point series, a national collaboration on inequities in rural health care access. It offered a high-level view of the significant challenges Shasta County residents face when trying to access health care while shining a light on monumental efforts by local health care administrators to address those long-standing challenges.
The story was republished both statewide and nationally, reaching almost a quarter of a million people and helping to provide insight for policy makers and others in power.
Today, as a follow up to that story, we’re asking for your feedback. What do you need to know about health care in the North State? What challenges have you faced in finding the doctors or medical care you need? What stories or resources could we provide that would help you and others?
Your response to our anonymous three-question survey will help shape our coverage in the coming year. Thanks!
