What Questions Do You Have for Your Political Candidates?

We’re centering YOU. Tell us what questions local politicians should be answering. We’ll use your ideas to guide our local elections coverage. We hope you’ll take our anonymous survey and share it widely!

Traditional forums center political candidates, placing them on a stage and leaving all of us in the role of spectators and observers.

If this frustrates you, you’re not alone.

At Shasta Scout, we want to center YOU. Your questions, your voice, your input.

That’s why we’re asking:

What worries or questions do you have about how the DA, the Sheriff, the Superintendent of Schools or other local political officials might impact you, your family and your community?

What do you want them to be talking about?

That’s it. That’s our whole agenda. You tell us what you want the candidates to be talking about. We’ll compile your anonymous answers and report the community concerns that you have indicated are most on your minds. We’ll then release a second survey asking you to rank the answers we received in order of their importance to the community. Finally, we’ll take the top-ranking questions to the candidates and share their answers, minus the fluff and the platforming, straight back to you.

Fill out our quick survey. Share it widely. We eagerly await your responses!

We’ve included descriptions of the roles of each of the offices. Skip over those if you like! Also, you don’t have to answer all questions – feel free to pick and choose the topics of greatest importance to you. The survey will be open until May 22, 2022.
