The Shasta County Superior Court has been closed since May 10 due to a major leak at the facility. The building is re-opening tomorrow, May 20, with a number of adjustments to operations.

According to a press release circulated by Stenderup, all public services will resume upon the courtโ€™s reopening.

While the second floor continues to be repaired, services assigned to Departments 21โ€“24 have been reassigned. Jurors already empaneled in Department 42 are to report as directed at 9:30 am May 20.ย Jurors not seated are excused for a week and do not need to report. People with scheduled court dates between May 12 and May 19 should contact their counsel about resetting their hearings. Self-representing litigants will be contacted by the court directly.ย

On May 20, court staff will be present in the lobby to assist visitors with finding the correct locations for their business. Those with non-urgent business matters at the court are encouraged to wait a week or two to visit.
