Shasta County Elections 2024: Here’s Who’s Running for Supervisor, Board of Education and each City Council
Here’s an overview of who’s running for some of the most important seats across Shasta County. We’ll expand this coverage with more detail, soon.

Editor’s Note: We have listed candidates in the order they appear on the official candidate list and we’ve identified their occupations in the same way. As we conduct and publish interviews with candidates, we’ll link them here.
Shasta County Board of Supervisors
The Shasta County Board of Supervisors includes five Board members who hold four-year terms. One seat is up for election this fall. Only registered voters within the County’s District 3 will be eligible to vote for this seat.
Candidates include incumbent Supervisor Mary Rickert and father and businessman Corkey Harmon.
Shasta County Office of Education
The Shasta County Office of Education (SCOE) Board has seven Board members who serve four-year terms as representatives of one of the two Areas within the County. Both Area 1 and 2 have Board seats up for election this fall, although one seat in Area 2 is only for a partial two-year term. All Shasta County voters live in either Area 1 or 2, so all ballots will include a SCOE Board member item. See a map of SCOE Board Areas here.
SCOE Area 1, 4-Year Term – 1 seat up for election:
Candidates include educator Michael Orlicky and substitute paraprofessional Michele Renee Tyson.
SCOE Area 2, 2-Year Term – 1 seat up for election:
Candidates include business owner and homemaker Teresa Roberts and appointed incumbent Cindy Vogt.
SCOE Area 2, 4-Year Term – 2 seats up for election:
Candidates include business owner Dolores Lucero, commercial driver Richard Gallardo, appointed incumbent Amy Cavalleri, Regional Director and mother Jessica French, parent advocate Jackie LaBarbera and retired educator Don Aust.
City of Anderson
The Anderson City Council includes five Council members who hold four-year terms. Three seats are up for election this fall.
Candidates include incumbent Council member Stan Neutze, engineering inspector Darin Hale, homemaker Bonnie Simmons, and incumbent Susie Baugh.
City of Redding
The Redding City Council includes five Council members who hold four-year terms. Three seats are up for election this fall but one is for only a partial 2-year term.
City Council, 2-Year Term – 1 seat up for election:
Candidates include former Council member Erin Resner, incumbent Mark Mezzano, and business owner Anthony Spengler
City Council, 4-Year Term – 2 seats up for election:
Candidates include medical doctor/educator Paul Dhanuka, assessor mapping specialist Ian Hill, business owner Mike Littau, developer Joshua Johnson, and business owner David Backues.
Treasurer:
Greg Robinett, the current appointed City Treasurer, is running unopposed.
City of Shasta Lake
The City of Shasta Lake Council includes five Council members who hold four-year terms. Three seats are up for election this fall.
Candidates include retired highway patrol officer Daniel Ringwelski, business owner Dolores Lucero, incumbent Tena Eisenbeisz, retired city clerk Toni Coates, civil engineer Greg Watkins, and incumbent Janice Powell.

Ralph: I believe the raises went into affect in July.
Josh Johnson isn’t running for Redding City Council?
Nick: Johnson has until the 15th at 5 pm to submit paperwork for a four-year seat.
