Help Name the City of Shasta Lake’s New Skate Park!
The skate park will be the newest addition to the City’s Civic Center campus.

The City of Shasta Lake is in the final stages of developing a new skate park, and are calling upon the public to help with the final touch. By filling out this form, community members can suggest a name for the forthcoming $1.6 million project which will provide space for City of Shasta Lake youth and adults to recreate.
The Los Angeles–based design firm Spohn Ranch was selected to create Shasta Lake’s new skatepark in 2023. They have created similar projects in small towns across the nation, as well as in LA, San Francisco, Chicago, and more than one part of New York City. Spohn Ranch’s plan for Shasta Lake draws from a combination of local input gathered through public workshops and consultation from skating enthusiasts.
The City’s naming guidelines for parks can be found here. They’re specifically looking for a name that highlights a geographic feature, references a significant individual, and or gives a nod to a historical event or period. The City will not consider names that reference a company or corporation, or names that are derogatory or already in use elsewhere in Shasta Lake.
The deadline to submit a name suggestion is April 7. On April 10, community members can also provide feedback during the City of Shasta Lake’s regularly scheduled Parks Commission meeting.
