🏠 NorCal Continuum of Care Shasta Advisory Board, August 22, 2023
The Shasta County Advisory Board heard from City of Redding Community Development Manager Nicole Smith about the progress of the Collaborative Application, which the City of Redding has hired a consultant to complete. There is one new funding opportunity as part of this year’s collaborative application. The funding is available for organizations that work with victims of domestic violence. Information about how to apply is available on the NorCal CoC website and in the Notice of Funding Availability here. There is a mandatory conference on August 25 for those interested in applying for the funding. The submission deadline for local applications is September 1. Schreder mentioned that these funding notifications would have been posted much earlier had the collaborative application process been started in a more timely manner.
CoC Executive Board Chair Kristen Schreder also briefly explained her concerns about the NorCal CoC’s failure to bring in what could amount to millions of additional dollars that could be obtained in the future with a more competitive funding process. We will report more on this soon.
