A vegetation fire that started around 1 pm this afternoon, July 4, near Cascade Boulevard and Arrowhead Avenue in the City of Shasta Lake is at 5 acres.

The fire has prompted an evacuation order in zone CSL-543, in the area of Arrowhead and Riddle Road. An evacuation order means you should leave now. Find your zone here. The temporary collection point for those evacuating is Central Valley High School.

Cascade Boulevard, between Oasis Road to the south and Riddle Road to the north, is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

For those at risk, the best sources for urgent information are Watch Duty and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Facebook.
