Redding organizations to host meet and greet with Ironman officials ahead of this summer’s race
The event will be hosted by the Redding Chamber of Commerce, Visit Redding and Choose Redding Lodging. It will be held tomorrow, April 14, at 4 p.m. at Westside Tap & Cork.

The community is invited to attend a meet and greet with officials from Ironman — an organization that hosts international triathlons — ahead of this summer’s race.
The Redding Chamber of Commerce, Visit Redding and Choose Redding Lodging are hosting the event, which will take place tomorrow. According to a press release from the chamber, the Q&A-style event is intended to “bring together local businesses, community members, media, and athletes to learn more about the August race and how the community can play a role in its success.”
Redding was chosen last year to host the Ironman race, which is an event that features swimming, biking and running. It will be the length of half an Ironman race, totaling to 70.3 miles. The race will take place in Redding for the first time on Aug. 16 this year, and will be held again in Redding in August of 2027 and 2028.
The press release explained that the race will host around 2,500 athletes and have an estimated economic impact of $10 million for the region. It added that tomorrow’s event will host two members from the Ironman organization who will provide more information about the race and answer questions from community members.
While athletes are welcome, the event has a broader focus of helping the greater Redding community engage in a positive way with the Ironman and learn more about the race’s impact on the region.
“The meet and greet will focus on how the community can help create a welcoming and successful experience for athletes and visitors, including ways to support participants, prepare for increased activity in the area, and maximize the positive impact of the event for Redding,” the press release said.
The event will be held tomorrow, April 14 at 4 p.m. at Westside Tap & Cork.
