🏠 NorCal Continuum of Care Executive Board, August 28, 2023
Michelle and Annelise both attended the NorCal CoC Executive Board meeting on Monday. It was the first Executive Board meeting held in Redding City Hall, after Shasta County’s withdrawal as lead agency for the NorCal CoC. Much of the conversation centered around the upcoming deadlines for the U.S. Department of Urban Development (HUD) Collaborative Application deadline which is coming up at the end of the month. Additional meetings were scheduled for the ratings and rankings process to determine which funding requests will go into the final application to HUD and to review the document for final approval. The City of Redding has hired a consultant to coordinate the Collaborative Application this year on short notice. There was also much discussion around the amount of funding the CoC has received in previous years. It is possible to increase the amounts that the CoC is eligible to renew annually by applying for competitive “bonus” funding year after year. This kind of strategic planning could increase the amount of HUD funding the NorCal CoC receives by at least $1M annually over time.
