The federal Bureau of Reclamation will close the Clear Creek Tunnel for routine inspections and concrete repairs on November 12. The tunnel is scheduled to remain closed through April. 2025.

The Tunnel is 17.5 feet in diameter and 10.7 miles long and is the means by which water moves from the Lewiston Reservoir through the Judge Francis Carr Powerhouse before entering the Whiskeytown Reservoir.

Fluctuation of water levels at Whiskeytown will occur while the tunnel is closed, as water will temporarily not be diverted from the Lewistown Reservoir.
