Forums beginning this week will feature Redding City Council candidates and other political hopefuls
Events are being held by three local organizations. They will publicly interview candidates about their approach to business, the environment and other topics of interest to local community members.
Political forums will be held across Shasta County beginning this week and continuing over the coming month, with several focused on the multitude of candidates hoping to win one of three open seats on the Redding City Council.
Events will be held by the Redding League of Women Voters, Redding Chamber of Commerce and Shasta Environmental Alliance. The chamber’s forum will focus on business-related questions, while the forum held by SEA will center its topics on environmental concerns, and the LWV’s event will cover broader questions. All forums are listed as nonpartisan, free and open to the public.

Shasta Environmental Alliance
A forum for Redding City Council candidates, held by the Shasta Environmental Alliance, will focus on the environmental and climate issues affecting the Redding community. Audience members will be able to submit written questions in person or in advance.

Redding Chamber of Commerce
The Redding chamber will hold two political forums focused on issues that affect local businesses. The chamber’s questions will be generated internally and will not be provided to candidates in advance.

Redding League of Women Voters
The Redding League of Women Voters, a branch of the nonpartisan national organization, will hold forums for a number of local races this fall. Audience members will be able to submit written questions in person.
