Update: Hill Fire holding at 15 acres after prompting evacuations near Anderson

A vegetation fire off Happy Hills Road in a rural area outside Anderson has prompted evacuations.

Update July 13, 2026 1:55 p.m.: The fire is holding at 15 acres per Watch Duty.


A vegetation fire that started around midday is prompting evacuations in a rural area of Shasta County outside Anderson.

WatchDuty reports that the Hill Fire, located in an area off Happy Hills Road, had spread to 15-acres as of 1:10 p.m. and is threatening structures.

The fire has prompted evacuations in the Coyote Lane area of Happy Hills. Zones COT-9520 — south of Coyote Lane and north of Buttermilk Lane — and HAP-7490 — north of 6B Road and south of Coyote Lane — are now under an evacuation order. An evacuation order means you should leave immediately. Find your zone here
