The Shasta County Sheriff has just issued a mandatory evacuation order for an area near the intersections of Encanto Way and Portero Drive — close to the 30-acre Mathews Fire.

The Genasys Evacuation Map shows the exact evacuation zone as BEV-4490, near Ross Pond. An evacuation order means you should leave immediately. Find your zone here

The fire was first reported around 12 p.m., according to live reporting on Watch Duty, which also indicates that forward progress on the first was stopped as of 12:50 p.m.

For those at risk, the best sources for urgent information are currently Watch Duty and the Genasys Evacuation Map

This is a developing story.
