Supervisor Kevin Crye hospitalized due to ‘cardiac episode’
A statement posted on Facebook today said he’s been given an “excellent prognosis” for recovery. He’s also being treated for colon cancer.

Yesterday, as Shasta County Board Chair Chris Kelstrom announced that Supervisor Kevin Crye would be absent from the board’s weekly meeting, brief cheers erupted from some who are opposed to his political approach.
No reason was given for the absence at the time. But today, in a statement released on the Vote Kevin Crye Facebook page, the reason he wasn’t at his usual seat during yesterday’s meeting became apparent.
The press release said that the supervisor checked himself into Mercy Medical Center yesterday morning, complaining of chest pain. He was admitted, the statement continued, and this morning it was determined that he had experienced a “cardiac episode.”
“The Supervisor is in good spirits and feeling great,” the press release said, “and has been given an excellent prognosis for a full recovery.”
Crye was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer late last year, something he announced during a Dec. 16 meeting of the county board. He said at the time that he’d be having surgeries and other treatments. At the board’s Feb. 10 meeting Crye noted that he’d be in treatment that week as he joined the public for a recurring coffee meeting.
“I’ll have my chemo pump on,” the supervisor said.
Crye is running for reelection as the county’s representative for District 1 against Redding council member Erin Resner. They’ll face off in the June primary.
The press release today said that Crye looks forward to returning to public service as soon as possible. He’s still receiving care from Mercy Medical.

Watching comments pertaining to this issue is truly a joke! The liberal left sure does wear their bullshit on their sleeves!
Please explain, Jon.
Two people so far have wished too much speedy recovery. One person has offered that maybe it would give Mr Crye a chance to relax now.
.
And another person said factually that his health has gotten worse in the last 6 months. (News flash, that is correct.)
.
Which of these was the liberal comment again? And why?
You’re taking exception to these comments and it makes no sense. No one was being rude, and in fact you were the only person to use foul language and name calling in their comment.
Just a suggestion before you claim I’m on the liberal left, maybe you should do some self-reflection.
“…Crye was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer late last year…and this morning it was determined that he had experienced a ‘cardiac episode…’”
Neoplastic and cardiac issues in less than 6 months, Kevin Crye’s health condition seems to be worsening.
All the more reason he should run!
Please explain why it is all the more reason for him to run when his health is getting worse and deteriorating.

Waiting…..
He didn’t much good at all for the county, but with all this, maybe he can just relax, be a citizen, and focus on himself and his business
Although I don’t agree with him I do wish him a full recovery and will have him and his family in my prayers.
I don’t like the man in any way but I also wish him a full and speedy recovery.
