Results begin for Shasta’s Nov. 3, 2026 election
Votes counted so far are from ballots cast before Election day. Those from the precinct have not yet begun to arrive.

These are Shasta County’s results as of 10:18 p.m. We will update this story as new rounds of results come in throughout the evening of Election Day.
The polls closed with barely a whimper tonight at the Shasta County Market Street Elections Office.
Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis was nowhere to be seen as onsite election staffers quietly announced the end of another Election Day, carrying in ballots from the drop box in front of the office. In the observation room, members of the media milled anxiously, informing other election staffers that there was not yet a live election results page.

Anna Rodriguez, a long-term election staffer, was the one to make a brief announcement to the press and public about a pending new elections results page. Her announcement came as Curtis arrived from picking up ballots and began working with a representative from Hart InterCivic, the voting machine company, to open the cage holding the computer’s main brain in preparation to run the first tabulation of votes.

Nearly two hours later, preliminary results have just been released. The results so far are from ballots cast before Election Day. No precinct ballots have been counted so far.
