California Supreme Court cancels outreach session in Redding due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’

The Oct. 7 session has been moved to San Francisco. It would’ve been the first time in more than 20 years that it was held in Redding, and it was intended to help the public better understand how the judicial system operates.

The California Supreme Court has canceled the oral argument outreach session that was supposed to be held in Redding next week, moving it to San Francisco instead. The Shasta County Superior Court announced yesterday that the location was moved due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

“The Court expressed its regret for its inability to visit Redding at this time, and plans on conducting an outreach session in Redding in a future court year,” a press release read, referring to the California Supreme Court.

The session was intended to be an opportunity for youth and the public to better understand how the judicial system operates. The state supreme court holds outreach sessions across the state, and this would’ve been the first session held in the county since 2005.

It was going to be held on Oct. 7 at the David Marr Theater at the University Preparatory School in Redding.

Oral arguments can still be viewed online on the Judicial Branch website and the California Courts Newsroom.

  1. Sounds like an opportunity to understand the word “collusion” and learn the difference between justice and “just us”.
