The church announced last week that it chose Sintra Group Professional Investigations to conduct an investigation into clergy abuse allegations made earlier this year about Armstrong. The firm doesn’t list experience with this type of investigation on its site.

The MPV will be used to provide services to people who are unhoused or live in rural areas to help them successfully comply with the terms and conditions of their probation. It’s funded by a more than $280,000 state grant.
The Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency announced the end of Shasta’s measles outbreak yesterday. The outbreak contained nine cases total.
The sheriff’s office took actions to enter what’s known as a 287(g) agreement with ICE last May, but the process appears to have been halted. ICE’s 287(g) program, which gives local and state officers immigration enforcement authority, has been making national headlines.
The Mass-Casualty Incident training held last week was a “big success,” said airport Manager Andrew Solsvig. Organizers worked with local emergency personnel and airport staff to train for situations such as a plane crash or other major accident.
The training exercise is intended to ensure airport staff and emergency personnel are trained for a mass-casualty event, like a plane crash. There will be emergency personnel, equipment and smoke in the vicinity of the airport.
Like the previous nine cases, the newly-infected patient is a minor. Unlike those cases, this patient was partially vaccinated against measles.
SEIU 2015, the labor union that represents Shasta employees who provide In-Home Supportive Services, said it’s taking legal action against the county after supervisors withdrew a wage increase offer made last year. The union has also declared a labor impasse.
